Exciting news, yall, my upcoming Peter Pan reboot is now officially retitled: "The Extraordinary Legend". For those of you who don't know, I've finished writing and editing a family friendly story that tells a completely brand new take of the Peter Pan legend. The main characters of the tale are Peter Pan and Tinker Bell and the storyline fully focuses on them. I'm not going to give away too many spoilers regarding what happens in the book for I want it to be a surprise. But I can tell you that in this version, both characters have an entirely new origin and even the world they live in (which in this version is called New Neverland) is vastly different.
I wrote this upcoming book in honor of my children (primarily my daughters) who wanted to hear a brand new Peter Pan story. It was a day after my girls requested it that I got to work on it and it just kind of gradually grew as a project. I had the lovely honor of reading the final manuscript to my daughters before bedtime and they absolutely loved it. To this day they look forward to hearing the story again but in a fully illustrated hard cover book. Their joy and delight in the story inspired me to pursue publishing the book so that others can enjoy it too with their families.
About a few days after reading the story to my daughters, I ended up coming in touch with an awesome team of illustrators who operate US Illustrations. They were so friendly and hospitable and I showed them the manuscript for the book. The head illustrator herself and her team fell in love with the story and soon after we partnered up to make this project a reality.
Now on to the progress of the book: it's going to be done sooner than expected. Originally I was shooting for an early 2025 release but it looks this sucker could possibly hit as early as Christmas this year. It will all depend on publishing and printing dates. But either way: it's coming out within December-January from the look of this.
The illustrations are nearing completion and let me tell you...what Karine (the head illustrator) and her team at US Illustrations have accomplished is just jaw dropping. I have seen the artwork as well as the new Peter Pan & Tinker Bell they have crafted and it is incredible. Just seeing this come to life in beautiful illustration after beautiful illustration is honestly surreal.
It has been an incredible experience collaborating and working on this project with such great people. We have forged a strong partnership together and it has truly been special.
As of right now, "The Extraordinary Legend" is set to be released in ebook format, softcover, and hardcover. The plan is to publish it first on Amazon and the softcover and hardback version will also be available for purchase in my shop and in person.
